News and Announcements / The New Quick Key
« on: January 28, 2015, 12:53:04 AM »
We have made some changes to Quick Key and we hope you like them. There are some new features (and more to come), and we built them based on your suggestions and requests. But some of them might take some getting used to. Visit our blog and you'll find help videos. I will also be posting descriptions of the new features and how to use them here in the forum.

If you have any questions you can post them here in the Help section, or send us a support ticket from inside the app.

News and Announcements / How to Change a Quiz after Scanning Results
« on: January 28, 2015, 12:42:47 AM »

You can now make "blank" copies of your quizzes. Here is why:

On January 20th we removed the ability to add or remove questions or change the answer key (mark scheme) of a quiz if student results have already been scanned. We did this so we can expand Quick Key's ability to sync with third-party electronic grade-books.

In order to allow you to still update your quizzes, we added the ability to copy a "blank" version of any quiz you have already made. If you need to add, remove, or change questions of the answer key, but you have already scanned some results. DO NOT DELETE THE EXISTING RESULTS IN ORDER TO GET BACK THE ABILITY TO EDIT THE ORIGINAL QUIZ.

Instead, from the Quizzes page, press the "Copy" button next to the Quiz name you want to modify. Rename the copy if desired, make the changes you need to make, and then re-scan the original answer sheets.

This will keep your data clean and let us build integrations with third-party software in the future. Please let us know if you have any questions or suggestions on how to make your life easier. Thanks!

Hi All - some users have told me they can not see the images in these posts. They are using Chrome and Internet Explorer and windows machine. Is anybody else having trouble seeing the images using these browsers in Windows?

Product Design & Testing / Student Results Screen
« on: October 20, 2014, 09:19:36 AM »
Hi All,

Your feedback on the prior question was very valuable and I will be updating you all on that one. Here, I have a new screen and similar questions:

(click on the image to see a bigger view of it)

This is a mockup of the student results screen. Right now the equivalent screen is the one with all the red bars. I really liked that screen but our designer has a new concept. I am worried this design doesn't pack enough results on one page. Knowing that with all these designs, you will be able to swipe any row to reveal details about that row (a student, a quiz question, etc...) do you like seeing all this detail for each result, or would you rather see a more compact view like the one we have in the current app? Other feedback welcome, of course.

Product Design & Testing / Quizzes List Design
« on: October 16, 2014, 09:52:29 AM »
Hoping you can help with designing the new Quizzes List screen for the new Quick Key Mobile app. In the new app, when you go to look for a quiz, you will be able to filter the list of quizzes by Course, date, and some other filters too. But today's question is about what information you would like to see about the quizzes in the list. Please take a look at the mockup image at the bottom of this post (you can click on it to make it bigger) and let us know:

1. Is it useful to see summary information about the Quiz, such as how many people have taken it, and what the average score is for all those who have taken it?
2. What kind of information would be useful to see? For example, we could show you which Courses are currently assigned to the Quiz, when it was created, how many students have taken the quiz, whether there are any students in Courses who have not yet been scanned, etc... What would you like to see?
4. Would you prefer to see more quizzes on the screen (with less information about each one), or more information and fewer quizzes? Basically this is a question about how many entries we can fit on the screen. More info mean you see fewer quizzes at a time and you have to do more scrolling.

Thanks for your help! If any of this is unclear please post your question. This is the first of many design questions we will be putting here. So we will be working on making it easier for you to give us your design feedback. Thanks!!

We set this up as an open space for people to share ideas, plans, documents, quizzes, anything that you want to share with others. We won't share any of this stuff with anybody outside this forum.

News and Announcements / Welcome to the Quick Key Forum!
« on: April 05, 2014, 03:51:46 PM »
Welcome all to the new Quick Key forum!! there is so much we can do here, but the main purpose of the forum is as a place for educators to collaborate with each other and with Quick Key.

How do you collaborate with Quick Key? Well, we have a lot of ideas, and we want to hear from you, too. To start off, check out some of the forums we have already set up. You can ask support questions, submit feature ideas, share quizzes and lesson plans, and we have a private forum set up for our beta testers.

In the near future we will be setting up an advisory board. The size and shape of the advisory board is still being planned, but one thing is for sure: it will be made up of real, working educators.

Please share your ideas with us, and with your colleagues. And know that we will never share your information or what you share here with third parties.

Welcome and thank you for being part of the Teachermade movement!

Co-Founder and CEO,
Quick Key
